The Army and Indian Air Force (IAF) have finalised a plan to order 156 more indigenous ‘Prachand’ light combat helicopters, which are capable of offensive operations in high-altitude areas like Siachen Glacier and eastern Ladakh, from defence PSU Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL).
An Indian Air Force C-130J aircraft has landed in Delhi, carrying the mortal remains of 45 Indian victims who perished in the tragic fire incident in Kuwait's Mangaf. The devastating blaze claimed the lives of at least 49 migrant workers, including 45 Indians and three Filipinos. The remains of the Indian victims are being returned to their grieving families, including those from various northern states. The arrival of the bodies marks a somber moment as families prepare to lay their loved ones to rest. Authorities have ensured that all necessary arrangements, including ambulances on standby, are in place to support the affected families during this difficult time.

Five soldiers of the Army are feared drowned after being swept away while crossing a river in a T-72 tank near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Nyoma-Chushul area in Ladakh early Saturday, officials told PTI. According to the officials, the incident occurred near Mandir Morh, 148 kilometres from here, during an exercise around 1 am. The T-72 tank with five soldiers on board sank due to flash floods while they were crossing the river, the officials said.
