Israel has launched 'Operation Iron Swords' against Hamas militants in response to the declaration of a 'state of war.'
The Israel Air Force initiated a series of attacks involving dozens of fighter jets targeting Hamas in multiple locations within the Gaza Strip.
The war has led to 480 deaths on both sides and more than 1500 injuries have been reported.
While Israel has hit back at Gaza after the unprecedented and unprovoked attack by the Hamas militants, an act which saw widespread condemnation from world leaders, celebrations were seen on the streets of Iran, Toronto and London as well.
The Maldives has officially banned the entry of Israeli nationals into the country starting Sunday, June 2, 2024. The announcement was made by the Minister of Homeland Security and Technology, Ali Ihsaan, during a news conference at the Presidentās Office on Sunday afternoon.
Following a recommendation from the Cabinet, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu resolved to impose a ban on Israeli passports. The decision, which aims to express the Maldives' strong solidarity with Palestine, includes amending necessary laws to prevent Israeli passport holders from entering the Maldives and establishing a Cabinet subcommittee to oversee these efforts.
