Iceland Declares State of Emergency as Volcanic Eruption Expected Soon
The Atlantic nation has had thousands of earthquakes over the last week, with that kind of seismic activity often a harbinger of volcanic activity to come.
Authorities have now declared a state of emergency for Grindavik, a town of around 4,000 residents just outside of the country’s capital Reykjavik.
