Farmers’ Protest: Haryana Police warns to revoke Passports, Visas of protesting farmers | Oneindia
With a decision on resuming their march to Delhi expected to be made by farmers on Thursday, the cancellation of passports and visas of those involved in violence during the agitation is being sought by the Haryana Police.
Protesting farmers from Punjab have been camping at the Khanauri and Shambhu points on the Punjab-Haryana border since February 13 after their march to the national capital was halted by security personnel.
A decision on the march is anticipated to be taken by them on February 29.
The farmers are demanding the acceptance of their demands by the central government, including a legal guarantee for a minimum support price (MSP) for crops and a farm loan waiver.
On Monday, the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) and Sanyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) called for a Punjab bandh, resulting in the cancellation of over 150 trains by Indian Railways. The ongoing protest, which started on February 13, has led to farmers blocking rail tracks at the Shambhu and Khanauri border points between Punjab and Haryana. With key trains like the Vande Bharat Express and Shatabdi Express affected, this bandh is putting pressure on the government to address farmers' demands. Stay updated on the latest details and alternative routes for commuters.
