The United States witnessed a powerful wave of resistance as the âGood Trouble Lives Onâ protests swept through over 1,600 locations nationwide. Named in honor of late civil rights icon John Lewis, the movement calls for citizens to rise against injustice, authoritarianism, and policies they deem harmful to democracy. In Manhattan, New York City, demonstrators blocked intersections outside the ICE building at Federal Plaza in a dramatic sit-in. Major cities including Atlanta, Oakland, St. Louis, and Annapolis saw thousands rallying against Donald Trumpâs immigration crackdown, healthcare cuts, and broader policies.
The protests come in the wake of recent unrest in Los Angeles, where National Guard troops were deployed amid clashes. Organizers say the protests aim to honor John Lewis' legacy and challenge rising threats to civil liberties. Protesters carried signs reading âNo Kings,â a symbolic cry against authoritarianism and government overreach. This marks one of the largest mass protests in recent years.
