'The Acolyte' Reaches 11.1 Million Views, Gives Disney+ Best Series Opening of 2024 | THR News Video
The debut of 'The Acolyte' brought in big numbers for Disney+.
The streamer says that the 'Star Wars' series recorded the best opening for a show on Disney+ so far this year, with the premiere episode recording 11.1 million views worldwide over five days.
'The Acolyte' fell somewhat shy of the premiere of fellow 'Star Wars' series 'Ahsoka,' which drew 14 million views over its first five days in August 2023.

The first trailer for 'Daredevil: Born Again' is here. The show sees Charlie Cox return as Matt Murdock, attorney by day and vigilante by night, while Vince D'Onofrio once again plays Wilson Fisk aka the super villain Kingpin. The actors first played these characters in the Netflix Marvel series 'Daredevil,' which ran for three seasons from 2015 to 2018. Now, both men appear set for an inevitable collision course in the upcoming Disney+ series.

We now know who will be replacing the late Ray Stevenson in season two of 'Ahsoka.' The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Scottish actor Rory McCann will fill the role formerly played by Stevenson for a second season of the Star Wars series. McCann, who was recently on the big screen in 'Gladiator II,' is best known for playing The Hound on HBO's 'Game of Thrones.'
