More than 300 migrants arrive in Gran Canaria by boat in less than 24 hours
Spain's Interior Ministry says the number of migrants making the dangerous sea crossing from Africa to the Canary Islands jumped by 160% between January and July compared to the same period last year.
In a devastating attack on Friday, a Russian missile struck a nine-storey residential building in the central Ukrainian city of Dnipro, resulting in at least one confirmed death and 12 injuries, according to officials. The incident, which has caused significant destruction and panic, saw the collapse of four upper storeys of the building, leaving many trapped under the rubble. Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko cautioned that the death toll is likely to rise as rescue efforts continue. The Interior Ministry later confirmed that the fire at the site had been extinguished, the remains of one individual had been discovered beneath the debris, and two people were still unaccounted for.
