'Incompetence and greed' made Grenfell Tower a death trap, report says
Seven years after 72 people were killed in the high-rise building fire in London, the inquiry found that a "combination of causes" led to the tower being covered in combustible cladding.
Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey criticised the government for failing to properly consult bereaved families before confirming Grenfell Towerâs demolition. He urged the importance of involving survivors and relatives at every stage. Concerns have been raised over how many bereaved families were spoken to before the governmentâs decision to demolish Grenfell Tower.
