Gang jailed for smuggling £200m of cocaine in bananas

A drug-smuggling gang has been jailed after cocaine with a street value of £200 million was intercepted in a shipment of bananas – one of the UK’s biggest ever drug seizures.

Crime boss Petko Zhutev, 39, was jailed for 27 years at the Old Bailey for importation of a class A drug.

Erik Muci, 45, was sentenced to 33 years, and Olsi Ebeja, 40, was sentenced to 17 years in prison.

Bruno Kuci, 32, and Gjergji Diko, 34, were jailed for 21 years and 18 years, respectively.
