GPs in England have accepted contract terms which will help to end the ‘8am scramble’ for appointments. Health Secretary Wes Streeting welcomed the news, saying: "This is the first time since the pandemic that a government has agreed to a deal with GPs. It brings an end to the dispute and the collective action GPs have been taking."

The Health Secretary has insisted he did not ask NHS boss Amanda Pritchard to leave her job. Wes Streeting said he has “so much respect and time” for Ms Pritchard, who announced on Tuesday that she will leave her role as NHS chief executive at the end of March.

Triple-killer Kyle Clifford has been handed a whole-life order for the rape and murder of his ex-partner Louise Hunt, and the murder of her mother Carol Hunt and sister Hannah Hunt.
Clifford previously pleaded guilty to murdering Louise, Carol and Hannah, and was later convicted of raping Louise in a "violent, sexual act of spite".

Kyle Clifford, 26, has been sentenced to life in prison for three counts of murder. The former soldier became "enraged" when his 25-year-old ex-girlfriend Louise Hunt ended their 18-month relationship. The missing sailor who disappeared after the tanker collision in the North Sea is "presumed dead". Speaking in the House of Commons on Tuesday, Maritime minister Mike Kane said: "Our working assumption is that - very sadly - that the sailor is deceased."

Manchester United says it will create the "world's greatest football stadium" with a new 100,000-seat venue at Old Trafford.
