The banks of Bridgewater Canal have collapsed near Little Bollington in Cheshire following heavy rain, flooding nearby fields and leaving barges stranded.
Drone footage showed the extent of the collapse that occurred early in morning of Wednesday 1 January.

A major clean-up operation is under way in parts of Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Cheshire after heavy rainfall overnight into New Year's Day. Hundreds of residents were forced to evacuate from their homes after floodwater reached the second floor of their apartment building, and cars were left submerged in rainwater on the A555 Manchester Airport relief road in Handforth. The UK is in the grip of a wintry spell of weather, with the Met Office issuing two fresh amber warnings for snow and ice for parts of England and Wales over the weekend. Snow has already been spotted in Conwy Valley in Wales.
An amber warning for snow and rare freezing rain covering most of Wales and central England, including the Midlands and the north-west cities of Liverpool and Manchester, is in place from 6pm on Saturday to midday on Sunday, the Met Office said.
