Nigel Farage has renewed calls for a national inquiry into grooming gangs, criticising the Jay Review as inadequate. Speaking at Reform UKâs North West conference, he claimed a targeted investigation was needed into what he described as âdeeply racistâ crimes. The families of the victims of the 2023 Nottingham attacks have spoken of the widespread failures that led to their loved onesâ deaths, following the release of an independent review into their killerâs care. University students Barnaby Webber and Grace OâMalley-Kumar, both 19, and 65-year-old caretaker Ian Coates were fatally stabbed on the morning of 13th June 2023. Valdo Calocane was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia in 2020, and was sentenced last year to an indefinite hospital order, after admitting manslaughter by diminished responsibility. The families of the Nottingham attack victims held a news conference after a report revealed serious failings by the NHS in the mental health care provided to killer Valdo Calocane. The families said the report showed evidence of "catastrophic failure" and that Calocane "got away with murder".
