Vajpayee had a soft spot for northeast: Assam CM Himanta

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma attended the 'Susashan Divas' celebration and praised former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee's policies for the northeast. He highlighted the establishment of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) during Vajpayee's tenure. Sarma stated that the present regime continues to prioritize the development of the region. He mentioned Vajpayee's contribution to good governance and efficiency in the administrative machinery. The CM also laid the foundation stone for a statue of Vajpayee at Atal Udyan.
