Taylor Swift returns to UK for first live shows since foiled terror plot
Wednesday, 14 August 2024 Taylor Swift returns to Wembley this evening for her first live performance since shows in Austria were called off, after an alleged planned terrorist attack was foiled.
In London, the night began fast, with tens of thousands of swifties showing up early despite stern warnings from the Metropolitan Police to stay away unless they had tickets.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer has said Britain faces a "new and dangerous threat" in light of the Southport attack in July 2024. Speaking a day after Axel Rudakubana, 18, pleaded guilty to murdering three young girls at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class, Starmer warned of the rising threat of 'extreme violence perpetrated by loners, misfits, young men accessing all manner of material'.
