Three Lok Sabha MPs in BJP's list of 52 candidates for Telangana polls

Former Telangana president Bandi Sanjay Kumar figured on Sunday in the BJP's first list of 52 candidates for the November 30 state assembly polls. The BJP has also given ticket to its firebrand Hindutva leader T Raja Singh from his Goshamahal seat after revoking his suspension, effected last year for alleged insulting remarks towards Prophet Mohammad. Union minister and BJP state president G Kishan Reddy's name is not in the first list. The BJP is trying hard to emerge as the main challenger to the ruling BRS in the state.

On April 28, the Election Commission of India (ECI) directed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to revise the content of its Lok Sabha campaign song to adhere to the Advertising Codes outlined in the Cable Television Network Rules, 1994, and ECI guidelines. The AAP was requested to make necessary modifications to the song and resubmit it for certification. “The phrase “jail ke jawaab me hum vote denge” showing an aggressive mob holding the photo of Arvind Kejriwal showing him behind bars, casts aspersions on the Judiciary.
