In a first, India, EU carry out joint naval drills in Gulf of Guinea
India and the European Union conducted their first joint naval exercise in the Gulf of Guinea, reflecting their growing maritime security cooperation. The exercise aimed to reinforce naval maritime security cooperation and uphold the United Nations Convention on Law of the Sea. Ships from the Indian Navy and three EU member states participated in tactical manoeuvres, boarding exercises, and knowledge sharing sessions. The exercise demonstrated the shared commitment of India and the EU to ensuring maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea.
