Government probing 'data breach' of 8 crore Indians from ICMR Covid site

The government is investigating potential data breaches in the ICMR's Covid-testing database. A TV channel reported that a threat actor claimed to have accessed personal details of over 8 crore Indians who underwent Covid tests, including names, addresses, and phone numbers. ICMR and the health ministry haven't confirmed or denied the breach, but government sources have initiated an investigation following reports by the American cyber security firm Resecurity on October 9.
