India's growing 'Modi-made' economic crisis continues to spiral out of control: Congress on 'rising' unemployment rate

IndiaTimes Thursday, 2 November 2023
Congress has criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the rising unemployment rate in India, calling it his enduring legacy. The party cited data from the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy Ltd., which showed that the jobless rate has reached a more than two-year high. Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh claimed that the country's economic crisis is spiralling out of control, with the unemployment rate now above 10%. He also highlighted the increase in demand for employment under the MGNREGA scheme and the number of households seeking work.
