UP Finance Minister Suresh Khanna becomes convenor of GoM of GST Council
Friday, 3 November 2023 Uttar Pradesh's Finance Minister, Suresh Khanna, has been appointed as the convenor for the Group of Ministers (GoM) by the GST Council to review tax rates on goods and services. The decision was made based on Khanna's contributions in GST council meetings and ministerial groups. The GST Council often revises tax rates for public interest, and a new GoM has been constituted for this purpose. The GoM will consist of members from various states, including Goa, Bihar, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Karnataka, and Kerala.

In a devastating road accident today, at least 18 people lost their lives and many others were injured after the bus they were travelling in collided with another vehicle in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh. Among the deceased were three women and one child, police reported. The double-decker bus, which was en route from Bihar’s Sitamarhi to Delhi, crashed into a milk tanker from behind on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway early this morning. The force of the collision was immense, causing several passengers to be flung out of the bus, police stated.
