Congress reviews poll defeats, says Chhattisgarh, MP results unexpected, disappointing

The Congress leadership held separate meetings to review its performances in the assembly polls in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge convened the review meeting in Delhi, where former party chief Rahul Gandhi and other senior leaders were present. The party expressed disappointment over its defeat in the two states at the hands of the BJP. They discussed the need to strengthen their connect with the people and unitedly fight the upcoming Lok Sabha elections to unseat the BJP government. The state Congress chiefs have been instructed to submit a booth-wise report on the party's performance.
