Take permits for serving liquor at functions, urges excise department
Monday, 11 December 2023 With the wedding season at its peak, Delhi government’s excise department has urged people hosting functions to take temporary permits to serve liquor at parties and avoid drinking in the open and at public places. A Delhi government official said as per industry estimates, more than 3.5 lakh weddings were to be solemnised between November 23 and December 15, but the number of licences issued by the excise department stood at just 912.
