'Tujhse naraz' singer Anup Ghoshal, 78, passes away

Singer Anup Ghoshal, who offered balm to bruised souls with 'Tujhse naraz nahi zindagi' from Shekhar Kapur's Masoom and was the voice behind Satyajit Ray's iconic Goopy Gyne, passed away in Kolkata on Friday. He was 78. Brought up in a musical family, Ghoshal taught at Rabindra Bharati and wrote Ganer Bhubane, a book on Indian music. CM Mamata Banerjee described his demise as a huge loss. The Nazrulgeeti expert had also joined the political world and was elected an MLA of the governing TMC in 2011.
