Elections to 3 Rajya Sabha seats from Delhi, 1 from Sikkim on January 19

The Election Commission announced that elections will be held on January 19 for four Rajya Sabha seats, three from Delhi and one from Sikkim. The six-year term of Sanjay Singh, Sushil Kumar Gupta, Narain Dass Gupta, and Hishey Lachungpa will end soon. The nomination process begins on January 2, and the last date to file papers is January 9. The polling will take place from 9 am to 4 pm, followed by the counting of votes starting at 5 pm. The decision to hold separate elections for the three vacancies in Delhi was challenged but dismissed by the Delhi HC.
