BJP is gearing up to enter the 2024 Lok Sabha fray with the claim of having fulfilled yet another of its long-standing promises implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). Along with the already fulfilled promises of construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya and nullifying Article 370, UCC has been integral to the party’s poll manifestos for decades. Sources said the Uttarakhand government is set to implement UCC in January and its draft will be the party’s template for the rest of the country.
