Macaulay sent to India by British to enslave Indians mentally: Rajnath Singh

IndiaTimes Saturday, 6 January 2024
Union minister Rajnath Singh criticizes Lord Macaulay for introducing the western education system in India, which he believes enslaved Indians mentally and caused a sense of inferiority about their own culture. Singh emphasizes the need to revive the traditional 'gurukul' system of education to counter these effects and keep India's moral legacy alive. He advises that these centers of learning should integrate traditional education with emerging technologies like AI and quantum technology. Singh expresses his support for the foundation laying ceremony of the Patanjali Gurukulam in Haridwar.
