Intense rainfall over several weeks in Tanzania has triggered devastating flooding and landslides, claiming the lives of 155 individuals and leaving 236 others injured, according to the country's Prime Minister, Kassim Majaliwa. Addressing Parliament, Majaliwa attributed the severity of the ongoing rainy season to the exacerbation of the El Niño climate phenomenon.
