Railway constable posing as CBI officer arrested in 'extortion' case
Monday, 15 January 2024 A CBI unit arrested a Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable for allegedly impersonating a CBI official in an extortion and forgery case. Sunil Yadav has been accused of demanding money from the businessman to get him relief in the said forged CBI case. The accused also "threatened" the businessman to strike a compromise with another person in a land dispute matter which was under litigation between them. Yadav is being produced today before a competent court.

On Monday morning, a collision between the Kanchenjunga Express passenger train and a goods train in Darjeeling, West Bengal, resulted in eight deaths and 25 injuries. Both Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw expressed condolences, and President Droupadi Murmu extended her sympathies and prayers for the victims and their families.
