Govt working to eliminate terrorists, destroy separatist ecosystem in J-K: LG Manoj Sinha
Monday, 15 January 2024 Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has expressed confidence that terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir is nearing its end. The government is diligently working on a comprehensive plan to not only eradicate terrorists but also dismantle the "separatist ecosystem" in the Union territory. According to Sinha, the overall situation in Jammu and Kashmir is steadily improving and progressing towards normalcy. Since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019, the government has been implementing various measures to ensure peace and development in the region.
In the aftermath of the Reasi terror attack, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited the injured pilgrims, providing them with comfort and support. The attack, which occurred on Sunday, involved terrorists opening fire on a bus carrying pilgrims, resulting in the bus veering off the road and falling into a deep gorge. Tragically, nine lives were lost and 37 others were injured in the incident. Sinha revealed that the bus driver was specifically targeted by the terrorists. In response, the police, CRPF, and army have launched a hunt operation to apprehend the perpetrators. To support the victims' families, Sinha announced financial assistance of Rs 10 lakhs to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured.
