Driver fleeing without paying for fuel runs SUV over cop in MP

A police officer was killed by an SUV driver who fled without paying for fuel in MP's Chhindwara. ASI Naresh Sharma tried to stop the driver, but he rammed into him and escaped. The accused, Lokjeet Singh, was caught after a high-speed chase. Sharma (52) died in hospital. He was posted at Mahuljhir police station, around 200km from Bhopal. The accused was identified as Lokjeet Singh from Gadarwara, in neighbouring Narsinghpur district. Police say Singh was drunk.
