J-K Assembly Polls: Engineer Rashid's AIP, ex-Jamaat members form alliance
Sunday, 15 September 2024 () The Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) headed by Lok Sabha member Sheikh Abdul Rashid alias Engineer and former members of Jamaat-e-Islami (JEI) have come together in a strategic alliance for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly polls.
Advocate Gobinda Pramanik, general secretary of the Bangladesh National Hindu Mahajot, addressed concerns following Sheikh Hasina's resignation, noting the protection of Hindu homes and temples by BNP and Jamaat leaders. He criticized India's 'Republic' TV for spreading rumours and suggested, with irony, that India make Sheikh Hasina their Prime Minister, highlighting the channel's exaggerated concerns about her absence.
