Framer who attempted suicide at Shambhu border dies at Patiala hospital

A 57-year-old farmer, Ranjodh Singh, died after consuming poison at the Shambhu border protest on December 14. Distressed by the failing health of fasting farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, Singh took his own life. He was participating in the ongoing protests at the Punjab-Haryana border, where farmers have been demanding guaranteed minimum support prices for crops since February.
