Hurricane Francine hits Louisiana with destructive winds, causing power cuts to over 190,000 customers
Thursday, 12 September 2024 Hurricane Francine made landfall in Louisiana as a Category 2 storm, causing power outages for about 190,000 customers and severe flooding. With winds near 100 mph, the storm hit Terrebonne Parish and is expected to bring heavy rain and potential flash flooding as it moves inland toward Mississippi. Residents are advised to stay indoors.
