Acting on intelligence about the presence of terrorists, security forces cornered at least two to three militants in their hideout, triggering a fierce gunfight.
In the ensuing clash, two terrorists were neutralised.
The Indian Army on Sunday paid rich tributes to two soldiers who lost their lives in separate encounters in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district, which also resulted in the neutralisation of five militants. The solemn ceremony was held at the Badami Bagh cantonment in Srinagar. Lance Naik Pradeep Kumar of the elite para unit and Sepoy Pravin Janjal Prabhaker of the Rashtriya Rifles unit were killed during intense gunfights at Modergam and Frisal Chinigam in Kulgam district.
