'It is in sync with Constitution...,' Annamalai on BJP's Telangana poll promise of doing away with Muslim quota

IndiaTimes Tuesday, 21 November 2023
Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai has defended his party's promise to end the 4% reservation for Muslims in Telangana, stating that it aligns with the Indian Constitution. He argued that religion-based reservation goes against the principles of BR Ambedkar, the father of the constitution, and that it is important to distribute the reservation to communities in need. Annamalai also expressed support for the Uniform Civil Code, stating that it is necessary and in line with the Constitution.
