Supreme Court on Friday upheld a Punjab and Haryana high court order quashing an FIR registered in Amritsar against former deputy CM and Shiromani Akali Dal leader Sukhbir Singh Badal and slammed the Bhagwant Singh Mann-led AAP government for indulging in politically motivated litigation. A bench of Justices A S Oka and Ujjal Bhuyan asked Punjab counsel Rooh Hina Dua as to why the Punjab government has appealed against the HC order when it should be the complainant, at whose behest the FIR was registered.
